Current advice to players

For players competing in the Men’s T20 World Cup, if you or your agent are asked to do something for the Event (i.e. content, appearance, use of image), or to sign Squad Terms - please check with your players’ association or FICA before doing so.

Around the Globe

Head of UNI World Players Association, Matthew Graham has said: “Much more work is to be done to ensure athletes’ rights are respected, protected and upheld.” This follows the news the International Labour Organization (ILO), the United Nations agency responsible for promoting dignified working conditions worldwide has agreed to convene an expert meeting on athlete rights and representation, which will be held in early 2026.

ACA

The ACA recently executed an amendment to its MoU with Cricket Australia.
The key feature of the amendment were terms for the introduction of the women’s T20 Spring Challenge Competition as a reallocation of content following the reduction of WBBL matches from 14 to 10 games per team.

NZCPA

The 12th annual NZCPA Player Induction Forum took place in September in Auckland. Twenty-five newly contracted attended, marking their official introduction and over two days, the players were familiarised with various aspects of professional cricket and educated on the extensive range of services provided by the NZCPA.

PCA

PCA Chair James Harris responded to the release of the domestic schedule in England and Wales with a plea for the game to come together to improve matters for 2026.
Over the past 18 months, the PCA has been in increasing communication with stakeholders with the aim of prioritising player welfare, opposed to commercial revenue.

SACA

As a contributing partner to HERFORM, a groundbreaking project dedicated to the personal development of female athletes transitioning into high-performance sports environments, SACA is committed to utilising the insights to improve its programmes for its members. By providing early access to the digital hub, SACA aims to equip members with the skills necessary to excel in their careers.

T20 Player index

Wanindu Hasaranga, Will Jacks and Rashid Khan remain in positions one, two and three..

The top three players from across the world have consolidated their places at the top in the latest Men’s T20 Player Index.
Wanindu Hasaranga, Will Jacks and Rashid Khan remain in positions one, two and three.
Hasaranga has now spent nearly two years at number one, barring a blip from June to September in 2023 when Khan pushed him into second.
Ellyse Perry has retained her place at the top of the pile in the latest Women’s T20 Player Index.
The Australian spent 2022 and 2023 outside of the top 10 but returned to the number one spot in March and has stayed there since. West Indies’ Hayley Matthews has climbed seven places to number in the latest chart, while World Cup MVP Amelia Kerr is just behind in third.
